Mental health outcomes can be improved.
Stress, anxiety, depression and suicide are impacting our whole society.
- 25% of us are going to be affected by a mental health issue (Mind).
- 10% of young people aged 5-16 have a diagnosed mental health problem (Kessler et al).
- 50% of all mental health problems are established by the age of 14 (Gov.uk) and 75% by the age of 18.
The rationale for early intervention is strong.
As Frederick Douglass said: "It is easier to build strong children than it is to repair broken adults".
Effective skills to manage emotions and mental health
The Decider Skills empower teach children, young people and adults the skills to help them recognise their own thoughts, feelings and behaviours, allowing them to monitor and manage their own emotions and mental health.
The Decider Life Skills enable individuals to make effective changes in how they manage distress, regulate emotion, increase mindfulness, communicate effectively and live a more skilful, less impulsive life. Resulting in more resilient, responsible, resourceful, robust, reflective children, young people and adults.
The Decider Life Skills
The Decider Life Skills are 12 Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills designed to be taught to groups and individuals using a fun, creative and interactive style.
The 12 skills have been taken from the original 32 Decider Skills, simplified further for use as proactive mental health for children, young people and adults.
